Notes
  • Schedules change frequently. The times you find on this page refer to the current week. Double check your departure time a few days before travel.

  • In the event of rough seas, call the ferry company or Capri tourist information office (+39 081 837 0686) to check if there are delays or cancellations before heading to the departure port.

  • You don't have to reserve or purchase a ferry ticket in advance; however, we do suggest it for travel on the weekends, holidays, and during the high-season months of July and August (especially for an afternoon return ferry from Capri). You can purchase tickets online in advance on our website.

What happens in the event of rough seas?

Ferry routes may be suspended in the event of rough seas. Hydrofoils are the first routes that are canceled, while high-speed ferries and regular ferries are only canceled if the sea conditions are particularly dangerous. It's extremely rare for ferries to be completely suspended between April and the end of October. Call the ferry company or the Capri tourist information office (+39 081 837 0686) to check if there are delays or cancellations.
If you suffer from seasickness, we suggest taking a ferry rather than a hydrofoil. If you do take a hydrofoil, choose one with a single solid hull rather than a catamaran-style ferry, which sits above the water on two parallel hulls leaving an empty space in the center. We do not recommend taking a catamaran between Naples and Capri when seas are particularly rough, as it can be a very unpleasant experience.

Information for people with limited mobility

All ferries and hydrofoils are accessible to those with limited mobility, regardless of the ferry company. We suggest contacting the ferry company in advance to reconfirm accessibility and to request assistance while embarking and disembarking.
