September: summer vacation is ending, school is back in session, temperatures begin to cool off... but the holiday season isn't over yet on the island!
September is one of the best months of the year to visit Capri and the Amalfi Coast.
September Weather on Capri
In September, the temperatures can be a bit cooler but are still decidedly warm, the crowds start melting away but businesses are still open, and the sea is warm enough to swim without having to worry about too many boats passing.
Sound perfect? Close! You can get the occasional rainy day, but it's just an excuse to duck into a quiet museum or linger over your meal at a charming restaurant.

What to Pack
Temperatures in September can vary between the beginning and the end of the month, as the season goes from summer into fall. It is never very chilly, so summer clothes are still fine, but you may want to pack a light jacket and closed shoes just in case it rains.
What to Do in September
Beach clubs on the island and coast are all still open for business, as most close in mid-October. This is the perfect time of year to really savor the beach in peace, especially since most schools in Italy open back up so families are no longer on holiday.
The weather is also still ideal for a boat tour:
Settembrata
Each year in Anacapri, the “La Settembrata” festival is held at the beginning of the month to celebrate the traditional grape harvest, with a parade of locals in historic peasant garb and festivities along the town streets, including stands where you can sample local food and wine.
