This popular eatery books up months in advance, so reserve early and be prepared to dine late.
La Zagara
Less famous but no less delicious, this is a favorite spot for in-the-know visitors and islanders who love excellent cuisine but want a less VIP scene. This is the in-house restaurant for the Casa Mariantonia hotel, a historic address with an impeccable reputation. The great-grandmother of the current owners first opened this guesthouse for visitors to the island and introduced the world to the joys of limoncello. The original lemon grove still surrounds the hotel and forms a fragrant canopy over the few restaurant tables of this intimate eatery. The cuisine is modern though features local ingredients and classic flavors. This is the ideal spot for a romantic meal far from the crowds.

The most historic restaurant in Sorrento, this eatery was founded in 1860. Antonino Ercolano, the first chef here, invented their famous “cannelloni” and today diners can dig into this specialty in the lemon grove tucked away in the busy center of Sorrento hidden behind the Art Nouveau-inspired dining rooms. If you're looking for a relaxing spot to sample traditional cuisine and timeless local recipes, this is a top choice.

This storied eatery is located in the heart of Maiori along the main street through town. Walk past the dining rooms and into the hidden lemon grove, one of the few remaining in the town center.
