Do you want to sample the most authentic island dishes while visiting Capri, in a beautiful location with true Mediterranean charm? La Zagara, the restaurant at the Casa Mariantonia boutique hotel in Anacapri, has pretty tables set up for lunch or dinner under the shady lemon grove and serves both a full menu of traditional recipes from Capri and wine by the glass for an elegant drink in the exclusive wine bar.

Under a Canopy of Lemon Blossoms

A meal at La Zagara is the perfect occasion to savor the authentic hospitality of the island, particularly of Anacapri, while relaxing under the shade of the lemon grove surrounded by the scent of island citrus flowers and fruit.

Traditional island flavors are at center stage, with dishes created by the chef that combine historic island recipes with a contemporary touch, making the meal a perfect blend of flavor and creativity.

The menu at La Zagara captures the essence of Mediterranean cuisine with both meat and seafood dishes, including linguine with yellow cherry tomatoes and the traditional "colatura di alici" anchovy sauce from nearby Cetara and tortellone alla "Mariantonia", tossed with clams, zucchini, and lemon, all followed by excellent desserts.

No meal is complete without a a cool glass of homemade limoncello liqueur... an island specialty!

Aperitivo, Capri-Style

La Zagara also welcomes guests to sample excellent local fare at its vinoteca La Zagara wine bar, which serves wine by the glass and finger food each evening for those who want to enjoy an "aperitivo" in Anacapri. The wine bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a warm summer evening with friends, or a glass of wine before diving into the nightlife of Capri.

Relax in the informal, friendly atmosphere of the wine bar and order a glass of wine accompanied by delicious finger food to begin an unforgettable evening on the island!

The wine bar is open from 6 pm to 1 am

Exceptional setting, food, service and staff. High quality without the stuffiness of fine dining. They have the balance just right and the setting is wonderful. We loved everything about it

A Hidden Gem with the most perfect hosts

After spending 3 nights in Rome, we wanted 6 days to chill out and chose Minori on the Amalfi coast. We came across La Zagara on booking.com. We entered into correspondence with the owners who answered each email promptly, curtiously and fully. We even managed to increase our stay by a further 2 nights without any issues at all. We took the train from Rome to Salerno and then used Travel Mar to book a water taxi to Minori. Our hosts arranged for Alfonso to pick us up from the ferry terminal and transport us to the accommodation. When we arrived, Salvatore, Nilda and Spot (the dog ❤️) welcomed us with open arms. We were greeted with a drink and some cake and were taken to our beautiful room. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they treated us like part of the family. Every morning they were both there to greet us and serve breakfast and give advice on where to visit and how to get there. We were treated to a lesson on how to make Lemoncello and on another occasion were made fresh lemonade using the lemons from the property. Nilda also made a beautiful lemon cake for us. We will honestly miss their superb hospitality and a special mention has to go to our new friend “Spot”. He is a lovely dog and certainly enjoyed the treats we lovingly supplied ❤️. We cannot recommend La Zagara enough. It was absolutely perfect for our needs. The only issue for some might be the 330 steps up to the property from the village centre. However, there is a road route which is easier and other options including alfonso in his golf cart or taxis. We are both 65 and managed to walk it every day.

Exceptional food, but bring bug spray

Beautiful location in a garden of lemon trees. Lots of small tables. The tuna tartare appetizer was the best ever. The mixed seafood dinner was also incredible. Very nice staff. Only issue is mosquitoes so bring bug spray. They like candles under the trees, but that really isn’t enough.
