Contemporary design and lifestyle, Italian island style
- Italian interior design in a 17th century convent
- Five star services in a two suite retreat
- The historic center of Anacapri on your doorstep
Address
Caprisuite is the latest addition to the growing number of incredibly stylish hotels and maisons de charme hidden away amidst the peaceful lanes of the sleepy little town of Anacapri.
Contemporary convent
Occupying part of a 17th century edifice which originally served as the convent of the adjacent Church of San Michele, Anacapri's most highly-quoted monument, Caprisuite is a miniature boutique hotel in which the island's traditional architecture combines with unique items of designer furniture and contemporary art to produce a surprisingly modern, yet undeniably Mediterranean, living environment.
Designer touches
Cocooned within the centuries-old walls of the old convent, Caprisuite's sitting room provides a unique setting for Neapolitan photographer, Luciano Romano,'s powerful images; Gaetano Pesce's silicon vases; Charles and Ray Eames coat hangers and iconic items of Italian designer furniture, such as Paolo Piva's steel and glass coffee table.
Two suite retreat
Via the lounge, guests access the hotel's two suites, the smallest of which features brightly colored bed and bath linen created by the famed textile designer Livio de Simone, and faces onto a delightful little garden.
The larger suite has a minimalist style four poster bed and a small pool, created in a niche cut into the thick stone walls. Then there is the bathroom, complete with Pompeian style frescoes and fabulous anthracite resin shower.
The superior suite opens onto an internal courtyard, dominated by a somewhat surreal looking, eight meter high shelving unit, stacked with vases of prickly pear
Tailor-made treats
A delicious breakfast of freshly baked brioche and strong Italian coffee is served all day long, on the loggia which once served as passageway between the convent and the Church of San Michele.
Offering both the intimacy of a private home and five star hotel customer care, Caprisuite's concierge will organize a boat trip, the services of a personal chef, or a designer shopping tour, all at the drop of a hat.
On request, guests will even find a selection of the island's gastronomic delicacies waiting for them in their suite on arrival!

Location
In the heart of Anacapri, in what was once the convent of the Chiesa di San Michele, church famous for its majolica pavement depicting the Expulsion of Adam and Eve, Caprisuite is the perfect base for those wishing to explore this, the quietest and, arguably, most exclusive part of the island of Capri.
Right bang in the center of the picturesque historic center of Anacapri, Caprisuite is just a few meters away from the Casa Rossa museum and any number of bars and restaurants.
The Axel Munthe museum house and the chairlift to Monte Solaro are both within easy walking distance. The Grotta Azzurra, the island's beaches and Capri's Piazzetta are all just a short bus or taxi ride away.
