Imperial luxury

  1. The most unique view on earth (seriously)
  2. The tempting cuisine at the Terrazza di Lucullo
  3. The infinity pool directly over the sea

Perched on the cliff edge, towering 1000 feet above sea level, Capri's Hotel Caesar Augustus boasts a panorama which is, arguably, the most spectacular of any hotel in Europe, if not the world.

A view to die for

From each of the hotel's sun-drenched terraces and beautifully appointed bedrooms and suites, sweeping views over the entire Bay of Naples, Mount Vesuvius, Sorrento and the neighboring island of Ischia can be seen - the same views which bewitched the celebrated novelist Axel Munthe whose villa can be found just meters away from the hotel.

If it's a view with wow! factor you're after, book one of Caesar Augustus' incredibly panoramic "cliffside" rooms or suites

A suite to savor

Individually decorated with antiques and artworks from the owners' private collection, Caesar Augustus's Master suites come complete with a full range of top-notch amenities, luxurious marble bathrooms with jacuzzi tub and massive terraces where guests can soak up the sun surrounded by amazing views of the sea surrounding Capri.

Besotted by its beauty, King Farouk of Egypt used to reserve what is now called the Farouk Suite year in, year out

A pool to dream in

One of the hotel's most talked-about features, Caesar Augustus' double-level infinity pool has been cleverly designed to create the illusion of merging into the sea beyond.
This is where guests spend much of the day, swimming and basking in the Mediterranean sun.

A restaurant to remember

Clients will find it hard to resist the flavor-packed cuisine served in Caesar Augustus' "La Terrazza di Lucullo" restaurant.
Here, in the most romantic of settings, guests are presented with a menu featuring a combination of traditional regional specialties and exciting, contemporary Italian dishes, much of which is made with the ingredients grown in the hotel's large organic kitchen garden.

Beautiful hotel perched on a cliff in Anacapri. Views are spectacular. Hotel interiors are tastefully decorated and maintained daily with large vases of flowers and vegetables from their gardens. Service is excellent, concierge very helpful. Food both as room service and at their restaurant is on par with the rest of the establishment. Worth the price & best place to stay in the island

Underwhelming stay at the Caesar Augustus

I was honestly disappointed in our room at this hotel. We booked a deluxe sea view cliff side room. -There was no sunset views like our friend’s cheaper room. -Room didn’t look like the picture attached to the reservation. -There was no functioning table or desk to use only a small, filled secretariat. -The room was cramped and outdated. -The bathroom was tiny. The shower basin filled up with water so we had to turn the water off in between sudsing up and rinsing. We also had a leak in the shower tiles where water seeped out into the bathroom floor and into the bedroom after the shower was off. We had to pile up our towels to soak the water up. The main lobby and outdoor lounge were well taken care of and most staff in this area were lovely. The bar manager made sure our martinis were made to our liking. The breakfast staff was hit or miss. Cranky, uppity one day and friendly another. Pool staff was lazy the evening we visited. We stood around awhile by chairs and no one came with towels. Had to go ask for them which is unusual at a hotel of this caliber. The front desk staff were friendly but the check in process was quite odd. They whisk you off to the outdoor lounge area where Francesco, an owner, comes to greet you. You expect to get a cold welcome drink as well but don’t. He tells you to come see him with issues but he honestly doesn’t want to hear it. I asked for no maid or turn down service but they still had turn down done. I was complaining at the front desk where the gentleman was having trouble understanding, Francesco came out of the back office, looked at me and him, then went back into his office without offering to help at all. All show and no action. You can walk to the center of Anacapri where there are some restaurants and shopping but Capri requires a taxi. We’ve traveled extensively in Europe at other luxury hotels and this hotel just didn’t reach the level of luxury we expect.

Map

Hotel Ceasar Augustus is situated in one of Capri's most panoramic spots. From the terraces and suites of the hotel, an incomparable view of the island and the Bay of Naples can be seen, a view which extends from the Sorrentine peninsula to Mount Vesuvius and as far as the island of Ischia.
