Aurora Vino

I booked a table with the restaurant 6 weeks in advance and had an email confirmation. Earlier in the day we were walking past the restaurant. I showed a waiter my reservation and requested to get a table outside when we arrived later that evening. He essentially looked at me and said yes yes yes see you tonight. Did not pay any attention to our name or anything, did not write request down. Just treated us with indifference. We arrived at our allocated time. The lady with the clipboard did not have our name on her sheet at all. I showed her my confirmation email and she begrudgingly accepted that she had to find us a table . I explained we had requested outside and with a rather exaggerated sigh she gave us a table against the wall outside. However my seat was right in front of someone’s front door to the apartments above. I mentioned this the waiter and he said it would not be a problem as it was an old couple that lived there and rarely came down through the door. However , my meal was disrupted 4 times by a young man coming in and out of the door with his trash bag and then with his groceries. Not great. The service from the waiting staff was surly and sulky. The food was ok but for a shared pasta dish and two main courses with a bottle of average wine the bill totalled €260. When we asked for the check the young waiter basically threw it on the table along with the card payment machine . There was nothing particularly nice about eating here. The walls are covered with the staff smiling away with various international celebrities - admittedly looking 20 years younger than they are now, but perhaps you have to be famous to be treated nicely in this restaurant. Yes Capri is an expensive place but you can eat at much better places than this where the food and service is matched. Would not recommend.

I see that all the recent reviews are not good, but we really enjoyed our meal at Aurora. Perhaps it's because we were there at lunch time and it was not busy? We sat outside, but I did go inside to check out some of the pictures on the walls. The food was delicious (especially the pizza) and the service was great. In addition, the restroom was clean :)

The Capellini a la burro saltado e caviale was the best pasta i had on the trip . The breaded veal was delicious . The food was outstanding
