Let's meet in the Piazzetta!

  1. An espresso and a chat in a local café
  2. An evening cocktail while people-watching
  3. Open all year long, for a retreat in all seasons!

The Piccolo Bar was the very first bar to have opened in Capri's legendary "Piazzetta". The long established focal point of island social life, the Piccolo Bar was soon to become a favorite venue of members of Italian and International fashionable society.

Whether it be for a leisurely breakfast, quick coffee break or light snack, the Piccolo Bar is the perfect place to relax and observe the vibrant activity of the town's main square at any time of day.
From sunset until the early hours of the morning the bar transforms into the ideal spot where to enjoy an aperitif or cocktail among friends.

What a rip off!

This was the first place we came to once exiting the funicular and we fancied just sitting down with a glass of wine. We ordered 2 house white wines which were drinkable and came with some peanuts etc. It was a pleasant hour sitting in the shade watching the world go by. The place clearly attracts unsuspecting tourists as when the bill came, the cost of the pretty ordinary wine was off the scale and three times what we were paying for decent wine In Naples. I understand that Capri has a captive audience so can charge a premium. We also live on an Island so appreciate the complexities of transporting food and wine from the mainland, but the prices charge make this a place to walk on by! Down on the harbour sat in a prime position, the wine was better and half the price!!

Check prices before you order - our mistake - 10 euros for a coffee.

We should have checked the menu first before ordering. Yes this place has an excellent location right on the square so you expect high prices - however ? . We sat down in the morning ordered two coffees and one croissant . When we paid it was 26 euros. 10 euros for a coffee. I thought it was a mistake the. Checked and no that is what they charge. Over the top pricing. It is our fault we should have checked first. I was thinking max 6 euros. Coffee was OK. So beware .

We were looking forward to a coffee and cake after a 25 min walk up what seemed 10,000 stairs to get to this place (found out later we could have caught a tram up but that's another story) anyway we couldn't see any prices on the wall. Seems like a ploy, because if you knew you wouldn't purchase anything here if you knew. We had two small cappucinos and I had a cookie and my husband had a small cake. it cost us $55.00 Australian dollars, WOW what a rip off! But we were warned beforehand so only had ourselves to blame. The coffee was ok, but cups were small, but that's Italy for you and the cookie was nothing to rave about. Go somewhere else I say.
