Le Grottelle

Le Grottelle remains a place of great charm: the panoramic position is truly spectacular and contributes to making the experience pleasant, especially for those looking for the atmosphere and beauty of the Capri landscape: the view of the Faraglioni is unmissable! To my regret, this year I found a certain decline in quality and the pasta with scorpion fish was inexplicably overcooked, a flaw difficult to justify in a restaurant of this level and in a gastronomic context like that of Capri. The pizza, on the other hand, was confirmed to be good, compliments to the nice pizza chef! The prices are overall appropriate for the location and the context. Therefore, the extraordinary beauty of the place remains above all, but it seemed to me that Le Grottelle is in a bit of a decline compared to the past. It's a shame, because with more refined cuisine it could return to being a truly unmissable address. It wouldn't take much!

We had an amazing lunch at Le Grottelle. Everything felt incredibly fresh and unfussy, from the freshly caught snapper to the octopus carpaccio and vongole pasta. Easily one of the best rustic Italian comfort meals I’ve had on my European summer trip. What made it even better was the setting. The restaurant has a spectacular view over Capri and the sea, and it feels wonderfully removed from the busier parts of the island. The staff were incredibly friendly, warm and attentive throughout our lunch. It is a bit of a walk to get there, especially in the summer heat, but absolutely worth it. Great food, beautiful views and genuine hospitality. One of my favourite meals in Capri.

Trattoria-style food with high-end restaurant prices

After a short walk, one reaches the hotel - a wonderful location and a breathtaking view await the guest. The food is excellent - especially the fresh fish, which is impressive. Very good wine selection and attentive service - top-notch! It is best to rely on the owner's recommendations; we were not disappointed.
